Infobase Publishing provides two levels of authenticated access for its eBook customers. The first level is Account Authentication, which allows access to a customer's complete list of Infobase eBooks. The second level, eBook Authentication, allows approved users direct access to a specific eBook in a collection.
Infobase eBook accounts can be set up using the following authentication options:
Each customer account can be configured to allow multiple authentication options, providing access flexibility.
Individual eBooks in a customer's collection can be accessed directly using the available built-in authentication options described below
Direct URLs
Individual eBooks in a customer's account can be accessed using direct URLs. Each Infobase eBook includes a unique direct
URL link that can be copied by approved users to quickly access a specific eBook. These links include embedded authentication
information based on the customer account. The direct URLs can be shared with other users from the same account.
MARC Records
MARC records are available for all Infobase eBooks. These MARC records include a generic version of the direct URL for each eBook.
When libraries choose to use MARC records for Infobase eBooks in their electronic card catalog, patrons will be able to click on
the included direct URL to access a specific eBook. The authentication options will be verified behind the scenes and, if approved,
the patron will be passed directly into the requested eBook.
